About Our Activities
The FA’s 4 corner model and the areas of technical, physical, psychological and social development provide the foundations for all of our extra-curricular football classes. Within these classes, we aim to develop the key skills necessary for football development, such as ball mastery, dribbling, shooting and passing.
Fun focused activities and small-sided games are the methods we utilise for improving the aspects mentioned, as we believe that learning through fun is the best way to aid long term development.
Our multi-sports classes are a great way for your children to experience a variety of sports in a fun and engaging way. Attending our multi-sports classes enables children to participate in some old favourites and provides the opportunity to find new ones as well. Participating in a wide range of sports during childhood has been scientifically proven to increase the chances of lifelong sports participation (Green, 2010), and we believe our multi-sports classes can make a significant contribution to towards this, helping to set children up for a lifetime of sporting fun.
Our multi-skills classes focus on developing the ABCs, Agility, Balance and Coordination, which provide the foundation for all sporting development. These skills are developed through a variety of fun and exciting games in a playful and enjoyable manner. Areas we aim to improve with the ABCs include hand-eye coordination, throwing, and kicking, aiding in children’s physical development.
Social development is also at the fore within our multi-skills classes through activities that help develop problem solving and communication, which are excellent skills to possess far beyond the sports world.
Our Hockey classes are aimed at developing children’s abilities in an engaging and fun orientated setting. The core ideas we coach within sessions are understanding the basic rules, proper grips & posture, ball & stick control, receiving/trapping, passing, tackling, and most of all, fun.
Using small-sided games, children are given autonomy to apply these skills in ways that aid tactical and technical understanding and problem-solving capabilities. Our hockey sessions help in the progression of children’s sporting skills and include activities aimed at aiding psychological and social skills.
The popularity of American football is rapidly increasing in the UK. Our classes provide children with the opportunity to understand and play the game in a stretching and supportive environment. The various roles within American football mean there is something for everyone, with children given the opportunities to try out all the positions and develop their skills with sessions. The number of roles within the sport also means it’s a great way to create a broad set of sporting abilities, be it catching as a Wide Receiver, throwing as a Quarterback, or agility and ball carrying as a Running Back.
