Testimonials

“Amazing. From the initial communication via email to the smile on our sons face at pickup, we were very impressed. Staff were so friendly and responsive to any questions or queries. Especially for us who have a son with diabetes. Knowing staff were trained to deal with this condition was so refreshing. Then what a welcome for both kids and parents on his first day. Our son went in all smiles.”

“Really welcoming, enthusiastic staff who seem to know the kids well. This is the first time we’ve used any holiday clubs and we have been so so impressed. The kids love it! Craft activites seem really good, varied and high quality and Otis is learning lots of different sports and games that he comes home and wants to play.”

Katie Gardiner
(Chorlton Camp)

“Really impressed I was welcomed at the entrance, the lady explained to the boys what to do and offered them fruit. I felt that the club was well organised and left for work feeling reassured. The boys came home especially on the last day telling me they were excited and had enjoyed it especially about the animals.”

Parent

“I have one child in play and one in sport. Both loved it. Clearly lots of thought gone into resources for play in particular. Lots of unusual and creative pieces coming home each day!”

Katherine Moulder

“Camp seemed well organised. As it was my kids first time at a holiday club I particularly appreciated the emails beforehand with info about the activities and what they would need to take.”

Parent

“Katy has been brilliant, as Anna usually attends School of Play but wanted to try the sport camp instead. Anna said that Katy checked in with her at lunchtime to make sure she was ok. She also told us that Anna can always swap back if she doesn’t like the Sport camp.”

Angela Shilvoch
(Urmston Camp)

“All of the team members are fantastic and our children always return home from camp with fun stories of what their coaches have entertained them with that day.
They seem to have a fabulous relationship with Ashlea who always takes the time to make sure they have had a good day and her enthusiasm for the camp is certainly infectious!”

Parent
(Urmston Camp)

“The camp is always extremely well organised with timetables made available to parents of the activities the children will take part in during their time there.
Our two love hearing what they will be up to, especially when fun activities such as the “Creepy Crawly Show” are planned for them.”

Parent
(Urmston Camp)

“Our two children regularly attend School of Sport holiday camps. Not only because we have to work, but because they want to and always ask when they will next be going.
Each time they attend they are welcomed by a friendly, smiling face which sets the tone for the rest of their week.”

“Roary is currently having some treatment and this week he was due to start camp his blood counts were particularly low which meant he would have to go easy on some of the sports.

Roary was disappointed to hear this however School of Play made his time here this week just as brilliant, allowing him to do some sport whilst also looking after his health.

As a parent leaving a child at an out of school provider when they are dealing with other issues can be a worry however I have /had full confidence in School of Play to provide the care that was necessary to my child as an individual and also in a group setting whilst keeping the day so much fun.

Roary asks to come here on any school holiday he enjoys it that much, even if I don’t need the day care”

“Grayson said it was the best time he’s had at school of sport. He loved every minute of it and came home so happy and full of stories. Having the ice cream van turn up was such a special moment.

We always feel confident and relaxed sending Grayson to you guys, knowing he’s in really good hands.”

“Both my boys were very happy when they got home from camp. They had a fun-filled day and from what they told me, I felt like the team had made a big effort to make them feel included and to get to know them as little people. Absolutely no screen time as well which is a massive plus for me. ‘School of play’ exactly what it says on the tin!”

Parent
(Branwood Camp)

“Was very apprehensive about sending my son as we aren’t from this city anymore but the team really made me feel at ease and my little one seemed to be happy after a couple of days.

This camp is brilliant and I would’ve really struggled without it. Aqsa, Abbie and the other guy were very welcoming and gave detailed feedback after the sessions, my son also came home with plenty of crafts indicating a good time!

It was especially important to me that he ate well and when I picked him up he had always finished his food. I really appreciate the team looking after him and hope to join during the next holidays that we are in Manchester.

“We’ve tried a few holiday clubs and both myself and other parents I know have found this the best in terms of how professional and welcoming the staff are. Also in terms of the fact my daughter loves it, says she’s had a great time and wants to go back. I love that you provide a timetable of activities and that you factor in snack breaks. Amelie’s not a great eater but she’s come home having eaten really well.

She’s bought home beautiful artwork she’s completed and talks about her day so positively when we pick her up.

We certainly will book for future holidays with no hesitation.”

“It was Iris’ first and only day at summer camp today. She starts at Urmston Primary in September where she’ll have SOP wraparound care some days.

We wanted her to have a bit of an insight and today couldn’t have gone better, thank you! Despite my worries of not having been before, being quite young and it being out of the normal routine, she’s come home beaming, and telling us all about the things she’s made and how she ate all her lunch!

Thank you so much!

He’s only 4 and is often apprehensive about attending holiday camp but the team at Urmston are absolutely brilliant and he always has a fantastic day with them!”

Jen Monk

“Frankie has really enjoyed his summer days at school Of play this term. There’s no feeling like your kid enjoying a placement and having fun when you’re unable to on work days. He’s made friends from other schools which he likes to see each term and is comfortable with all staff. He’s even asked whether this am be his ‘forever school’ ha! We’ll be seeing school
Of play again next term. Thank you to all the staff and especially Oliver who is fab with communication! Well done everyone”

“I’ve already recommended to lots of parents – in fact they signed up for Feb and April as a result of it. Marnie really enjoyed her sessions. She made lots of friends and was able to be creative. She spoke about the staff members by name. Every day she came out beaming, happy, confident and proud of her work. It’s been a no brainer for us as a holiday camp.”

Parent

“Harry always comes home happy, tired and talks about all the things he does. We feel he’s well looked after and supported and we wouldn’t send him anywhere else.

Harry is quite young and we worried massively about sending him but we needn’t worried. The team are fantastic, Harry fell and hurt himself one day and it was sorted out well, we were told what happened when we picked him up and I was happy with the procedures in place.

When we talk to Harry about holiday club he talks about how excited he is to see all the team, which makes me think he’s well loved.”

I booked Etta in last minute through the app, late at night! Can’t think of anyway to improve that! Very good indeed.

The team at School of Play are always brilliant. They’re positive, smiley and engaging and they always make Etta excited about all that is in store about the day ahead and are just as enthusiastic at the end of the day. “The entrances were made to look very welcoming and fun (my child commented immediately it looked like a party!) and the staff couldn’t have been more warm, welcoming & friendly. They really went the extra mile to make my child feel comfortable and give a personalised approach.

I really appreciated the phone call to discuss the details ahead of Ivor’s attendance.”

Parent
(Chorlton Camp)

“Very well organised! The website is easy to use and easy to book a space. It was so nice to see that Tilly brought her ‘creations’ out every day and she was so pleased with what she had made that day.

It was also great to see that Tilly (eventually) ate her lunch after Ashlea mentioned that she wasn’t – perhaps Ashlea had some influence here?

Both Ashlea and Will were super friendly and when Tilly was a little upset when I dropped her off, Ashlea immediately picked her up and she stopped crying.
Will usually brought her out at the end of the day and Tilly always gave him a big hug. Super cute! This shows that the team really built up a great rapport with her.

I am looking forward to booking some summer time in with the team! Well done and keep up the great work!”

Victoria Allen
(Chorlton Camp)

“Absolutely amazing staff. Ashlea went above and beyond with Grace who can be very difficult as she has additional needs. Honestly staff were outstanding can’t thank Ashlea enough for all she done.”

Catherine Taker

“Both my girls love your camps, they are packed full of activities that keep them busy all day.

I really love that my daughter gets to try sports she doesn’t have the opportunity to do elsewhere like hockey, dodgeball, and elephant football. Also, some camps allow the kids to watch TV and play with tablets, and here there are no electronics its all about fun which I LOVE!

My youngest in the school of play didn’t even want to come home most days and wanted to stay making the crafts.

Your camps are worth every penny as of the brilliant team you have they are friendly, supportive, and full of encouragement.

I have no worries about leaving them for the day with you and I would recommend you to anyone.

See you at the next half term :)”

Danielle McCabe

They always come out with a big smile on their faces which makes me feel reassured that they’ve had fun and been taken good care of. The staff greeting the children at the door is always lovely. My children range from 3-9 so finding somewhere they would all enjoy was another hurdle. Lots of recommendations for this one and it did not disappoint. Special shout out to Reuben who was so welcoming at the door and put my mind at rest. The kids loved him! To top it off they all complained that I had picked them up to early!”

Sarah Power

“We were quite anxious about leaving our 4-year-old daughter at the holiday club on her first day, as it marked her initial experience with such an activity. However, our worries were dispelled when she left the school with a radiant smile, enthusiastically exclaiming that she ‘adored it’ and was eagerly looking forward to returning.”

Parent

“The team is the most important characteristic for me. Harlem is on a social and communication pathway waiting for an assessment and I know that he can be ‘challenging’ and I worry about him because he is vulnerable. The staff are welcoming towards him and are happy to support his needs. They communicate with us if there are any issues. Both children speak fondly of them.”

“The organisation of the camp was outstanding. Every team member I spoke to was fantastic, really enthusiastic and cared about Felix. Felix had a great time. It was his first time at the camp, and he was a bit nervous – he’s been to holiday camps before in the summer holidays, just not here. He said everyone was kind to him and he didn’t feel nervous for very long! Thank you. Felix had a great time, and the quality of the craft coming home was brilliant. So much thought had gone into everything!”

Vicky Timson
(Urmston Camp)

“It has been an easy process, from booking all the way to drop off and the collection. The kids thoroughly enjoyed all the activities, which were varied and fun. The team is outstanding, and the quality of care provided is on the next level. All staff members have a lovely personal bond with each individual child, and they feel supported, listen to, and in a home from home.

Katy has been impressive again. She seems to read Henry’s behaviour very well and has brought out the best in him through positive reinforcement. She always has time to listen and acts quickly regarding concerns; improvements etc. Henry has been very happy! The team has gone above and beyond this week! Great activities, excellent prices – a superb mixture.”

Ashley and Katy are brilliant, welcome us with a smile, and are always so lovely with Anna. The activities planned were well above what I expected.”

Angela Shilvock
(Urmston Review)

“Really easy to book my child on, very clear instructions and great communication . A staff member rang me before my son attended to ask if I had any questions and emailed me about the Halloween disco to remind me that the kids could dress up.

The staff are very friendly and really get involved with the kids. My son was a little nervous about coming as he didn’t know anyone. He quickly made friends with support from the staff, who really helped bring out his confidence.”

“Elias really enjoyed himself and was keen to get in each day – we felt he was well looked after (and tired!). The organisation of the camp was excellent. I welcomed the call from Sophie to see if I had any questions.”

“Matilda really enjoyed her three days at club, she was really excited to tell me all about her day and had fun with all the different activities. The staff were wonderful, and getting the star of the day made her so happy. Thank you so much to everyone.”

“Ivy absolutely loves attending School of Play. The staff are fantastic, Ivy absolutely raves about Ashlea. The activities are really engaging and I’m always hearing “Why did you collect me early?”

“Emilia had a brilliant time at the holiday camp – we have already booked the Christmas holidays! She was worried about coming in on Wednesday, but Ashlea was brilliant when I dropped her off, and she walked in with a smile. Emilia has not said a single negative thing about the holiday camp, so thank you! Thank you also for the horse riding lesson and the gold award – she is really proud of this, which has boosted her confidence.”

“Drop off and pick up were easy and respected social distancing. The staff made the children very welcome. The staff are great and let the parents know how the day went for their child at the end of the day. Our son had a great time, and he is already keen to attend the next holiday camp. Loads of activities were in place, and Arthur brought back all his masterpieces and treats at the end of each day.”

Sandra Quinn

“Anna really enjoyed her days at the club, and the staff were really friendly and enthusiastic. Well organised and clear instructions. Nice that someone phoned us beforehand to check any last-minute details. The organisation of the camp was excellent.”

“The staff were very welcoming and friendly. This was the first time my girls had been to a play camp. They walked straight in! I arrived on the first day to collect them a little earlier, and my eldest told me to collect her when it was over the next day as I was too early.

They had great fun both days they attended and were really proud of the crafts they made. It was a lovely touch giving them a certificate, and Martha loved getting a star of the day award.

I met the two ladies at the door- both were very professional and friendly. The children took to them straight away. I’ll definitely book again!”

“As usual, such a fun-filled few days Sophia has had. She’s been up to all sorts and absolutely loves coming to camp.  Ashlea and Katy have made a huge impact on Sophia as she talks about them all the time at home. They’re so friendly when we come to pick up. Sophie wasn’t able to attend day one of camp due to an appointment and the team bought her a card for being brave, really kind and thoughtful. You consistently provide a fantastic service, and I love that we’re so lucky to have this service on our doorstep.”

Laura Fowler

“The idea of having a club with arts and crafts was great as not all kids like sports. There were lots of different activities, and my daughter never got bored! The ideas were very creative.

The camp was really organised, and everyone was very nice during drop off and pick up. Very detailed timetable information, regular communications via SMS and phone call in advance made my life much easier.

Catherine loved Sophie. She kept mentioning how sweet she was. She reported in detail how Catherine behaved/felt throughout the day. My daughter already mentioned that she wants to attend the next camp, during the summer holidays!”

“I had a great first impression. The staff were really organised and friendly, and there was a welcoming vibe as children arrived. I received a call the day before camp to check if I had any questions, and they were expecting Alex on his arrival and knew where he was meant to be.

The overall leader welcoming the children and the overall leader of the young children in the playgroup were both friendly, kind and caring to Alex, who was nervous at first. On the journey to the holiday club on the second morning, he told me he loved it.”

Jen Potter
(Urmston Camp)

“It was brilliant. The staff were amazing, and our kids had a blast! We were greeted with refreshments, and on the last day of the week, a giant balloon arch! The kids had a great time, and all of the staff were enthusiastic and good fun.

Each staff member we met was friendly, knew what our kids had been up to, and made an effort to give us some info when we collected them.”

Nikoll Carr

“The holiday camp looked amazing, and the team had gone the extra mile to bring the lost in the amazon theme to life. Easy drop off in the morning and pick up in the evening. We also love the schedule provided on the site so we know how the day will be split and the extra activities planned.

As always, Ashlea and Katy have been fabulous with Arthur, from the personal greeting in the morning, their understanding of his feelings and the encouragement they provide to make Arthur have loads of fun every day at the holiday club. Arthur also mentioned George this week as he tried school of sport for a couple of days and how impressed he was with George’s football skills.”

“Fantastic! This was the first time the girls have been to School of Play, and from the moment they walked up to the gates, they were so excited. With the jungle-themed animals, balloons, streamers etc, they couldn’t wait to get in and enjoy the day with everyone. They didn’t even look back! | love how much of an effort the whole team had made to make it so welcoming.

Brilliant organisation. | think it’s great you provide a timetable for parents to see what the kids are getting up to throughout the day, and they have so many interesting activities to make each day a bit different.

Both girls said all the team workers were so fun and really nice to them. I thought it was lovely they came to speak to the parents at the end of the day to give any feedback and tell us how they had got on.

I was really worried about how my youngest would be as she’s only in the nursery, but the whole team made her feel really comfortable, and she enjoyed every second with her big sister. They can’t wait to go back again in the summer. Lots of variety, the kids were so excited to show us what they had made each day and tell us what they had been doing.”

Leigh Edge
(Urmston Camp)

“Great! It was very engaging with the blow-up animals on the fence, and it was nice to see some of the children’s crafts on display.

I thought the welcome Alexa received on her first day was fantastic. The teacher took the time to chat with her and make her feel comfortable before she went in. I got thorough feedback at the end of each day, and Alexa came home happy.

She did so much, and it was all very inventive! I’ve been impressed from start to finish. A massive well done to all the team!”

Rachel Smith
(Urmston Camp)

“The children were so excited to see the balloon arch with a snake hanging off it when they arrived; they both ran in and didn’t look back!

The booking process; the information provided in advance of the camp; and the reminder emails with clear bullet points stating what the children need to bring, were all excellent. As was the phone call prior to camp to ask if we had
any questions — a really lovely personal touch.

I really like all the staff I’ve had contact with. When I fed back to the person greeting in the morning of Day 2 that Idris was feeling a bit nervous about attending Days 3 and 4 without his little sister, there was immediate reassurance. The iPad came out, and the two team members identified that another boy was staying for the full week and switching over to School of
Sport like Idris — | was so grateful for that care.

They’re already looking forward to coming again in the Summer holidays. It’s such a relief as parents who both work full-time to know that the children are happy, well looked after and having fun!”

Charlotte Clayton

Staff are always friendly & Emilia is always positive about the different team she sees. Ashlea is always so positive at drop off/pick up & makes such an effort to know all the kids.”

“Friendly and welcoming. Really impressive how quickly they learned Violet’s name!

Sean was really kind about Violet having a bit of a wobble, making sure she had a bit of time out during the day and told us at the end of the day. Violet came home saying it was “so cool!”

Pippa Gibson

“Everyone I met was super friendly, and everything was really well organised. The team seem to be really passionate and enjoy their job.

Isabella had a great couple of days. The activities seem very varied, and she has said she’s had a great time and can’t wait to go back next week.”

Lisa Swann

“Well organised with a variety of activities. Loved the Olympic theme. Elliot was a bit anxious before attending as it was the first time he has attended a holiday club, but he came back very happy, having made friends and had loved the activities.

Keep doing what you’re doing. High-quality kids club that both my children came back buzzing about.”

Melanie Fraser
(Chorlton Camp)

“We all loved the Olympics theme the first week of summer holidays. It got the kids involved in the spirit of competition and they really enjoyed it. The staff always makes such a big effort for our kids.

The team are amazing. They are always happy to see the kids, know everyone’s name and give feedback on their day when we collect them. Can’t say enough about the team!

Ashlea is so on the ball and she remembers every child, every parent and everything going on each day. She goes above and beyond for everyone!”

Nikoll Carr

“Our impression: well organised, friendly welcoming staff, bright colours, engaging signage/props, etc.

Elliott’s impression: I was a bit scared to go on my first day, but the place looked nice.

I felt very confident from day one leaving Elliott as it looked like he’d be in very capable hands. The holiday camp leader, Ashlea, seemed particularly engaging and enthusiastic. All the staff were welcoming and encouraging.

Keep doing what you’re doing! Also, the certificates and awards were a lovely touch.”

Susannah Keane
(Urmston Camp)

“Staff were really friendly, professional and welcoming. The set up and organisation seemed great. They were very welcoming, they introduced themselves to our daughter when she arrived (as she did ad hoc days) they noticed she was a little nervous, as we had a bad experience at a previous club, and they made the effort to settle her in. Our daughter loved every second and can’t wait to come back!”

Lauren Mawn

“Very welcoming and friendly staff. My daughter is so excited to attend and always comes home happy with lots of creations from the day.”

Jessica Kingsman

“Florence has had a great time at the School of Play. She’s enjoyed all the craft activities, made new friends and it’s been a huge weight off my mind knowing she’s enjoying the holiday club while I’m working.

The team are lovely. Floss was upset a couple of times when I dropped her off, the staff were so kind, engaging and reassuring. So organised from booking to drop off.”

Beth Podesta
(Chorlton Camp)

“Staff professional, friendly, efficient, organised. Equipment was new, neat and tidy. Venue security was very good and neat and tidy.

I accidentally packed peanut butter sandwiches for the kids and the staff kindly informed me and went out and purchased new sandwiches for them allowing me to stay at work. I can’t thank them enough.

Kids loved the activities and were excited to tell me all about what they did as soon as we got in the car home.”

Dee On-Iam
(Urmston Camp)

“The kids had the best time, came home happy and tired! They loved the pizza making. You are all amazing, just keep doing what you’re doing.”

Becci Duggan
(Urmston Camp)

“Feedback from the children themselves:

Simon liked it and it was fun making the crafts. He loved playing outside, it was so amazing, especially being able to play with his little sister Caitlin.

Caitlin liked it because she was able to play with her big brother and doing the crafts. They liked the teachers and enjoyed the songs.

I had a few email exchanges with different members of the team and they were all friendly, professional and were as helpful as possible. I was impressed by the helpfulness of everyone. I didn’t expect such a positive experience in this aspect.”

Caroline Allan
(Chorlton Camp)

“Well organised, friendly and enthusiastic staff! Ruby came home every day having thoroughly enjoyed herself and excited to go back the next day.

I was worried Ruby may struggle / the staff may struggle with Ruby’s additional needs, but this wasn’t the case at all. They were really understanding, caring, enthusiastic, approachable and generally fab!

I’ll be sending Ruby to School of Play more than the holiday club at her own school as she had such a great time and was kept entertained and engaged with all the activities they did.”

Helen Hatcher
(Chorlton Camp)

“Meghyn really enjoyed the day and we will be booking again for future holidays.”

Parent

“Really well organised and decorated brilliantly for Halloween and Harry Potter. The staff are brilliant and Ruby loved her week at School of Play.”

Helen Hatcher

“Very friendly and warm staff, it was a new place for my children where they did not have their friends, but they were always happy to go there and would leave with bags full of craft work, some of which I will keep. Communication was very good, and a lot of effort was put into making it exciting for kids.”

Edita
(West Didsbury Camp)

“Entrance was fab. The themes are great – I didn’t have to put a Arlo in holiday camp this week but he loves Harry Potter so was desperate to go – he was very upset on the way home as he wanted to go again the next day!!!”

Jodie Sibiga
(Urmston Camp)

“Indy loved it and I had great peace of mind that he was happy for the day. Was also reassured by the team’s feedback throughout and at the end of the day.”
